Thanks for the poorly drawn comparison. Someone giving away items through the ingame trade interface is not comparable to someone promising nice things in return for your personal information.

Aye. It got unstickied a while ago, for seemingly no reason other than the admins want their fanbase to be illiterate, and MCS isn't around anymore to shout at people who type "u" over "you". I'm scared, Sekkira. Hold me.

how is that a scam?

if you fall for this scam you are a dumbass....seriously. Why would ATI need your email password? people never stop to think "why does this person need this???" All scamming could be shutdown completely if people weren't pathologically stupid.

Meh...at least they make an effort, and we can understand them. Most people who don't speak English as their primary language type better than the leetspeak or whatever. Complain about those people rather than those that do try to follow the rules.

Back OT: You really shouldn't use the Internet if you can't help falling for scams. Above all else don't check your e-mail. No, I don't have a PayPal account right now, thanks for asking me to update my password for it. Scams abound on the Internet, and inside GW is no exception. Don't even trust your friends and family online (thanks to viruses and account hacking) unless you contact them "offline" first.

So I guess the fact of the matter is if you are just trying to be helpful and post a notice about a scammer or something you should be prepared to be flamed for it.

gg

Regardless if it affects me or not, I at least appreciate the notice.

Don't purchase Oakleys from street vendors in New York....I'll fill you in on a little secret: They aren't real.

The route of this scam stems from the ati 10 hour giveaway trial of GuildWars that your suppose to have bought there card but it actually doesn't (at least at first) verify this.

So you if you have an ati card and running off the trial, the people that "lied" not likely to respond, will have added weight behind the scam working.

Do you NOT read? Just because one person does not fall for it doesn't mean that person is a dumbass, or pathologically stupid. I suggest rethinking on how things go. Just because someone falls for it, doesn't mean one assumes others that fall for it are "pathologically stupid." Read above posts and get a better understanding.

I really dislike people who play on other peoples innocence and their trust... it really is satanic.

Whoever this scammer guy is, is very good at scamming. One of me best buds named "Will The Wanderer" you may or may not have heard of him. But this guy scammed him for his account and his AIM account, lol. He gave will 100+ shards so he could "gain his trust" so he asked for his email adress (not for guild wars) and his PW to his e-mail address (don't ask meh). Then once he got both of those he just clicked the "Retrieve Password" button and got it. It's pretty well.. organized I guess.

How does that saying go referring to the pot and the kettle again?

Capital letters and sentence structure do indeed work wonders towards improving legibility.

Um, sorry, but it's hard to understand what YOU are trying to say. And it's "ridiculously." No, what you are not understanding is that I said read above posts. One who falls for scams does NOT mean you have to be stupid.

I feel a bit hurt when you tell me that english is not my primary language, and you have proven that you can not do any better. You obviously do not know what pathologically means, because it patholigical is something that his habitual, compulsive, something that is derived from another cause. Now, are you saying that there is something out there creating stupidity directly for falling for scammers?

If you READ earlier posts, innocence is one of the main reasons why people fall for scammers in the first place. Of course, common sense deals with it a lot. But common stupidity? Sorry, but that's just too unclear. Innocence and curiousity, and instant gratification is what leads people to be scammed, hurt, mislead.

Please don't make remarks about others like that again without knowing who they are.

English not my primary language. Psh.
